The summer school takes place in Porto (Porto) which is situated in the north of the Country, at the Douro river estuary.Porto is one of the oldest European centres, and registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is a modern infrastructure, recently renewed, located just 15 min. away (by car) from the city center and the summer school venue.

From the airport to the conference venue

The best way to get from the airport to the summer school site is using the Metro (follow the ). Average waiting time at the airport is 15 minutes. Ticket type is a Z4, costing 2.35€. The trip takes about 20 minutes. You travel on the E line (violet), in the direction of Estadio do Dragão, and leaving at station Trindade, at a 10-minutes walk from Hotel Eurostars das Artes. (An optional 1 station hop on the D line, until Aliados station will get you even a bit closer.) The following map shows the route from Trindade station to Hotel Eurostars das Artes.


Moving around

Porto has a Metro () and a network of buses (). Trains (CP) from the two main train stations (Campanhã or São Bento) will help you to plan any trip to the outskirts. Metro tickets can be bought from automatic machines at metro stations (carrying some change is advised). Bus tickets can be bought from the driver, although for many bus lines you can actually use the Metro ticket (Andante).
